Let the volleyball season begin!

Two weeks into the 2011-12 school term and both varsity teams from Mount Sentinel are taking to the courts to begin the B.C. High School Volleyball season.

The female Cats travel to the Silver City to compete in the annual Hawks Girl’s Tournament at the J. Lloyd Crowe gymnasium.

For the first time in years Mount Sentinel is off in B.C. High School A Girl’s top-10 rankings.

Selkirk Storm of Kimberley is the only Kootenay team in the rankings, in tenth spot.

The host Hawks have put together a very quality event to open the season and should be a threat to win it all.

Meanwhile in Creston the Mount Sentinel boys team get a look at the always powerful Prince Charles squad at the Comets Invitational.

Both Prince Charles and Mount Sentinel represented the Kootenays at the B.C. High School Volleyball Championships in Kelowna last November.

The round robin draws begin Friday at both tournaments with the playoff round, and finals, set for Saturday.
