Nelson Police arrest 27-year-old male for sexual assault, uttering threats

Earlier this week Nelson Police placed a 27-year-old transient male under arrest on charges of sexual assault, sexual interference and uttering threats.
The arrest happened Monday.
The victim in this matter is a 13-year-old female who had been reported missing by the RCMP from a neighbouring community.
The accused male, who is well known to police, appeared in Grand Forks court and was remanded in custody.
He is scheduled to appear in Nelson court on Nov. 21.
