Award-winning and provocative eco-adventure film On the Line comes to Nelson and Castlegar

The award-winning and provocative eco-adventure film On the Line is coming to Nelson and Castlegar in May.
Film maker, Frank Wolf, travels the proposed Enbridge pipeline route by cycling, hiking and paddling through its pristine environment from the Alberta Tar Sands to Kitimat on the northwest coast of B.C.
“This is a fun and entertaining way for people of all ages to visually witness how our wonderful BC will be impacted by the proposed Enbridge pipeline,” said Keith Wiley of Kootenays for a Pipeline-Free BC.
Wiley’s group, Kootenays for a Pipeline-Free BC, is sponsoring the film tour.
However, other groups have tossed in support in efforts to stop the proposed pipeline.
“This pipeline is slated to export Alberta tar sands crude to China at a price that BC residents need to know about,” said Sandra Nelken of the Nelson Chapter of the Council of Canadians.“
“It’s for these reasons that some of the most well-known groups in our region have teamed up to bring in the best educators to the Kootenays,” she says.
The public is invited to join Wolf as he transports us on an exciting journey across the prairies and through some of the mountains and northern rivers of BC which provide sensitive ecosystems and habitat for all sorts of wildlife.
According to the Vancouver Sun, Wolf “brings into sharp focus the people and landscapes that would be affected if Enbridge gets the go-ahead.” Explore Magazine says“…this film couldn’t be timelier”.
The film is being screened at 7 pm on Monday, May 7th at the Castlegar Library and Tuesday, May 8th at the United Church Hall, corner of Josephine and Silica in Nelson.
Tickets for the event are $10 or pay by donation at the door.
