Invitation to smoke pot goes south for group of men

A group of young men had next time better check out the guest before extending an invitation to smoke a joint.
Last Saturday (August 11) several young males were sitting in the 300 block of Victoria Street smoking marijuana when a pedestrian walked by them.
Feeling hospitable, the group offered the person to join them.
Unfortunately for the group of individuals the pedestrian was an off-duty member of the Nelson Police Department.
On duty NPD officers attended the scene, identified the males before seizing a small amount of marijuana.
Charges to are being contemplated.
Smoking pot and not eating or drinking too much for man
Tuesday, at 9:45 a.m. Nelson Police received a call about a man in his early 20’s under a truck screaming and yelling.
When officers attended the scene at Falls and Baker Streets, they managed to coax the man out from under the truck.
EHS was called to asses the man as he would not communicate to officers.
Friends explained the man spent the weekend at Shambhala smoking marijuana and not eating or drinking.
The young man was transported to Kootenay Lake Hospital for treatment.
As the Shambhala festival concluded NPD members were kept busy removing campers from parks and any other place they could find a place sleep in Nelson overnight.
Domestic dispute turns into fight with police
Saturday (August 11) at 8:15 p.m., Nelson Police received a call of a domestic dispute in Rosemont.
After advising the man he was under arrest, the male refused to leave and resisted arrest.
During the scuffle one of the officers received minor injuries before the male was subdued and put in handcuffs.
The man is scheduled to appear in Nelson Law Court October 2 for charges of domestic assault, mischief to property and assaulting a Police Officer.
