A 39-year-old Trail man has been sentenced to 15 months in jail after being caught with cocaine twice in as many months, according to RCMP Cpl Darryl Orr.

According to Orr,  Leonard Ablog Dyoco was arrested July 18 for Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose or Trafficking.

“Members arrested (Dyoco) without incident after he had parked his vehicle at a residence on Fourth Avenue in Trail,” Orr said. “A search of the male revealed a quantity of cocaine that had been packaged for sale.  Other evidence of trafficking was also gathered during the search of the suspect, who was later released on a Promise to Appear in Rossland Court in September of 2012.”

But that was not to be Dyoco’s last interaction with local police.

“On Sept. 15 (at roughly 1 a.m.), members of the Trail Crime Reduction unit arrested the same male again for Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking,” said Orr. “Dyoco was arrested at the CIBC parking in downtown Trail and swallowed a quantity of cocaine when investigators arrested him. Investigators recovered additional cocaine on Dyoco during his arrest and he spent the night in hospital recovering from the effects from ingesting the Cocaine.

Dyoco entered a guilty plea in Rossland court yesterday (Sept. 17) in relation to both incidents. He was sentenced to 15 months in jail, followed with probation.
