Hospital Foundation rolls out invitation to 2013 Polar Bear Dip

2013 is just around the corner.

And a few hours past the start of the New Year is the annual Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation Polar Bear Swim at Lakeside Park.

It doesn’t matter if your a swimmer, floater, young or old, everyone is invited to take the New Year plunge to raise money to enhance and support surgical services at Kootenay Lake hospital.

The starting gun is scheduled to start the sprint into Kootenay Lake at high noon on Monday, January 1, at the Lakeside beach.

Prior to the generally quick dip is the Foundation Chilli feast beginning at 11:30 a.m. in front of the Lakeside changeroom facility.

While the KLHF is pleased to gladly provides the warm snack, in turn, they welcome the environmentally conscious, asking the public to please bring a washable bowl, mug and spoon. 

Pledge forms for the Polar Bear Dip can be found at the front desk of Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson, as well as at www.klhf.org.

Donations will also be accepted at the hospital and at Lakeside Park during the event.
