This notice is to inform the public, businesses, residents and tenants on Victoria Street and side streets from Glover Road and Tamarac Avenue to the Victoria Street Bridge, that the City of Trail is proposing the replacement of the sidewalks, curbs and gutters along with improvements to the storm water collection system. This project is scheduled to commence this week with preliminary inspections and set-up, and construction is due to start early next week. The estimated completion date of this project is the end of September 2013.

The construction related activities may cause short term road & sidewalk closures, impacts to water services, increased noise levels, and interruptions to normal vehicle and pedestrian routes. Construction hours are primarily from 7a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday-Friday. However, added time may be necessary to further minimize disruption to traffic. During these times please be aware of heavy equipment and crews working on Victoria Street and side street areas. Single-lane two way traffic can be expected along with minor traffic delays for the majority of the project. Peak traffic times, 7-9am and 3-5pm, will have as little disruption as possible. Please obey all posted information signage, temporary lane and sidewalk closures, posted speed limits, idle reduction notices and traffic control personnel in the area of construction. All attempts will be made to preserve pedestrian and vehicle access routes to the residential and business properties to maintain existing access and services to the areas during the construction period.

Regularly scheduled services, such as waste/recycling pickup and mail delivery, will be maintained as best as possible. You will be notified should a disruption of water services need to occur. Please run your tap for few minutes if you experience dirty water coming from your tap.

The City of Trail apologizes for any inconvenience that the proposed work may cause and will endeavor to complete the work as soon as possible with minimal neighborhood disruption.

Please contact the City of Trail Engineering Department, 250-364-0822 if you require any information regarding the project. The City looks forward to working with you on the revitalization of the Victoria Street Corridor.

Thank you,

The City of Trail
