Kelowna teens violently ill after ingesting ecstasy

RCMP is reporting that several Kelowna teens are recovering after they ingested what they believed to be ecstasy and became violently ill Friday (August 2).
Now a Vancouver television station is reporting that a Kelowna girl is dead after ingesting ecstas.
Age of the girl has not been released but RCMP said three youths, 15, 16 and 18 years of age, were ill due to the drug.
“Ecstasy is a synthetic drug that is made in clandestine labs that have no quality controls,” the RCMP release said.
“Various toxic chemicals are used in its production and each batch can vary in chemical composition, toxicity and potency. You can never really know exactly what is in street drugs, and something that is being sold under one name could be something else entirely.”
It is believed that the youths purchased the pills, apparently being peddled as the well known club drug, in downtown Kelowna.
After ingesting the drugs, the teens were struck with stabbing abdominal pains, chronic vomiting and itching.
“Drug dealers are only in it for the profit and don’t care about the health or well-being of their clients,” the RCMP release said.
