Greenwood focusses on economic development; promotes heritage buildings

GW to start heritage project
At their Oct. 28 meeting, Greenwood city councillors approved a joint project with the Greenwood Board of Trade and the Greenwood Heritage Society to place signs on heritage buildings in the downtown area for tourists. The signs will provide information to tourists and give them opportunities to take photos.
Economic development project in the works
City council also approved funds fo $2,000 for a Greenwood Economic Development Committee that will work to encourage visitors to “Stop and Stay” in the city. They will also work on improving other aspects of economic development in Greenwood.
Disability parking
The space in front of the Heritage Credit Union is now marked with fresh, blue paint to make it clear that this spot is for disabled individuals. The area was previously confusing because it had a 15 minute parking sign and was close to a fire extinguisher.
Halloween in GW
On Thursday, the city is hosting an annual hot dog and fireworks evening at city park. Hot dogs will be ready starting at 7 p.m. and fireworks start at 8.
