Trash to Treasure Day is Saturday
Let’s not forget about Earth Day and get into the spirit by participating in the Regional District of Central Kootenay Trash to Treasure Day, Saturday (April 26).
This single day event is an opportunity for residents to help reduce waste by giving away any unwanted household items.
As the same time, a same item that maybe unwanted by the neighbour, could be a piece of lost treasure.
Trash to Treasure is sponsored by the Regional District of Central Kootenay.
The way the day works is, residents are asked to collect any unwanted items from the basement or caport or closet.
Place the items near the curb, with a sign to alert the public, where other bargain hunters may access without disrupting traffic.
Remember to remove the items from the curb by 4 p.m.
Earth Day was Tuesday, April 22.
The first Earth Day took place on April 22, 1970.
More than 1 billion people now participate in Earth Day activities each year, making it the largest civic observance in the world.
For more information on the Trash to Treasure Day, or to download a sign, go to the RDCK website.
Of note, this event is also happening in the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary.
