One of the region’s premiere events is all set to go this weekend, as organizers prepare to kick off the 19th Annual Pass Creek Fall Fair.

Donna Smith, secretary of the Pass Creek Exhibition Society, says this is their signature event and features tons of activities, displays, vendors, booths and competitions to delight all ages.

“We were voted the Best Small Fair in B.C., by B.C. Fairs Association,” she said. “There’s something for everyone, and the entry price is the same now as it was when we started 20 years ago, in 1994.”

Admission is $5 per person, and free for kids aged six and under.

She said as many as 5,000 pass through the gates over the course of the weekend, with the fair opening Saturday and Sunday at 8 a.m. and running to 5 p.m. on both days.

Just a few of the highlights include:

    7 – 11 a.m.:  Pancake breakfast both Saturday and Sunday;

    8 a.m.:  Horse show both Saturday and Sunday;

    9 a.m. – 4 p.m.:  Fun Swing Carnival Ride (www.thefunswing.com) both days;

    9 a.m. – 4 p.m.:  Antique car show Saturday only;

    10 a.m.: Exhibits & Displays open – Hills Pavillion;

    11a.m – 3 p.m.:  Dirty Diggers for a Weekend – both Saturday and Sunday;

    11a.m – 4 p.m.:  Selkirk Lions Family Carnival – Saturday;

    10a.m – 2 p.m.:  Dog Show – Sunday only;

    11a.m – 3 p.m.:  Selkirk Lions Family Carnival – Sunday

    3– 3:30 p.m.: 2014 Fall Fair Trophy Presentations – Bandstand – Sunday.

Mountain Transport Institute is once again generously donating a bus service from the Complex, Pioneer Arena and Station Museum, since parking at the fair grounds is limited and will come with an extra charge.
