Friday night, the Castlegar Rebels played in Spokane, a game which ended in a tough loss in overtime.  Spokane scored a late power play goal with just under a minute-and-a-half left to tie the game and scored 16 seconds into the overtime period.  Castlegar’s penalty kill was 6/6 before Spokane capitalized on their seventh try to tie the game.

The Rebels bounced back Saturday night with a 9-3 home win.

Grand Forks scored seven minutes into the second period to go up 3-2, which seemed to the wake up the Rebels, with Castlegar scoring five unanswered goals in the second while adding two more in the third.

“The players kept playing the right way in a game where players can very easily let up and not do the little things, which creates bad habits,” said Head Coach Jesse Dorrands.

It was a good win, with the Rebels coming out of the weekend with three of four points.

The Rebels are on the road to start the weekend in Fernie Friday night then play at home Sunday against Golden.
