I am running for Trail Council because I will offer a fresh perspective to City Hall. We need to continue the transition of our City of Trail to a new generation of leadership.
I have completed a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia and a Masters in Business Administration from Royal Roads University. I am a member of the LCCDTS (Lower Columbia Community Development Team Society) Health and Hospital Committee.
I am currently employed as the Director of Development of the KBRH Health Foundation. My focus is to manage the fundraising, marketing & administrative operations of the Foundation with the end result of improving health care for citizens of the Kootenay Boundary. Public relations and fiscally responsible management of public funds are key components of my position.
Citizens of Trail are seeking an increased level of engagement and communication from their elected officials and I am prepared to deliver that to you.
If elected I intend to:
– Improve communication as I strongly believe there are many citizens that have valuable ideas to advance Trail forward. We need to capitalize on our collective wisdom and shared knowledge to make Trail into a City where people choose to live, work and play. If elected I commit to enhancing the level of transparency and accountability with citizens and businesses.
– Make informed decisions and thoroughly evaluate all opportunities to enhance Trail. Opportunities such as new housing starts, infrastructure improvements, creating a vibrant entertainment portfolio, and diversifying our employment base. We need to act now and strategically to implement initiatives to create growth and prosperity for Trail. I commit to supporting fiscally responsible, strategic initiatives.
– I will work diligently to strengthen regional collaboration. Our economies are interdependent. We will prosper, remain stagnant or fail as a region, not as individual municipalities. I believe equal access to services should be fostered through inter-municipality agreements that are fair for all. We need to work cooperatively. I commit to bridging this gap for the betterment of Trail and the entire Greater Trail Area.
I am confident that through fresh, enthusiastic leadership, and a comprehensive Strategic Plan, we can make Trail into a place where people are drawn to and want to live and work.
