The Castlegar Rebels were on the road this past weekend with games in Sicamous on Friday night and Chase on Saturday.

After having a very successful October, where the Rebels had points in nine out of 10 games, they were looking to start November on the same note after starting the month with a win and a loss.

The game in Sicamous did not start the way the rebels wanted when they were scored on in the first minute and down 2-0 by the end of the first. Castlegar came out with a better effort in the second, scoring a power play goal a minute and 45 seconds into the period to cut the lead in half. Sicamous started the third period with a goal a minute and 15 seconds in to regain their two-goal lead, but the Rebels didn’t give up and scored three unanswered goals with Jeremy McNeil scoring the game-tying and game-winning goal for the Rebels securing the two points for the club and his own two-point game.

The next night, Castlegar would travel to Chase to take on the Heat and would come out with another win, this one in overtime. The Rebels got up to a 2-0 lead in the first period, but let the Heat take over in the second with Chase being up 3-2 to end the second period. The Rebels were trailing as they headed into the third, but showed character and battled back to tie the game just under two minutes in, when Darren Medeiros scored. Chase would retake the lead 30 seconds later, but again the Rebels would not give up and Mike Bhatoa tied the game up just over three minutes after Chase went ahead. The period would remain scoreless and went to overtime, which remained scoreless in the first four-on-four period, which led to the three-on-three overtime period. Bryan Lubin scored the game winner just under a minute into the second overtime period. The Rebels look to add to their three=game winning streak when they take on Kamloops Friday and division rival Nelson on Saturday, both at the Complex.
