Nine hurt in passenger bus accident near Prince George

Thursday morning near Prince George, nine people were taken to hospital after a passenger bus left the highway.

North District RCMP Traffic services  were called at 7:50 a.m. to a report of a single vehicle incident involving a passenger bus with unknown injuries approximately 38 kilometers south of Prince George.

When ffficers attended the scene on Woodpecker Hill they found find north bound passenger bus lost control and went off road into the left ditch landing on its side.

Reports at scene indicated that nine people were taken to hospital; three with serious, but non-life threatening injuries and six with minor injuries.

A joint investigative team; RCMP traffic Services analyst, a Reconstructionist, and a Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement are still on scene attempting to determine exactly what caused the bus to leave the road.

Police are requesting anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact North District Traffic Services at 250-649-4004.
