Golfers (and brave beginners who are willing to give it a try) can swing with the best of them at the Charity Golf Tournament at Redstone on August 6, and compete for prizes.

There will be some sort of prize at every hole, and  some lucky, or highly skilled, or both, golfer could win a prize of $10,000 for getting a hole-in-one at a particular location.   Hall Printing is supplying that prize — but only  if someone can win it!

Shotgun start at 3:00 pm, with teams of four in three divisions:  Men, Women, and Mixed.   Beginners can be assured of a good time, too, with competitions designed specifically for less experienced golfers.

Tickets are $55 for Redstone members;  for non-members, tickets are $80.  All tickets include a cart seat and greens fees, plus a burger buffet dinner in the clubhouse —  chicken, beef and veggie burgers, with salads, and dessert. And chances to win  more prizes, all donated by local businesses.  Dinner-only tickets are available too, at $39 each.

The tournament is sponsored by Fortis;  proceeds go to help with the Rossland Museum and Discovery Centre’s six-phase renewal project.  When completed, the renewal should help the Museum, and Rossland, recover from the closing of the long-popular underground “mine” tour when safety and legal liability  concerns arose.

To register for the golf tournament, contact Redstone at  250-362-9141.
