Marwest and the City of Castlegar are advising the public that there will be increased activity on the Columbia Avenue Project over the next few weeks:

·         Crews will start working Saturdays starting Sept. 8 through to project completion

·         Road grading will take place the week starting Sept. 10 between 13 Streetand 15 Street;

·         Road gravel will be placed the week of Sept. 10, – Please use caution and REDUCE your speed;

·         The first lift (layer) of asphalt will be going down approximately Sept. 14.

As this surface work is being completed there will be increased congestion and additional delays along this section of Columbia; please use caution, reduce your speed and have patience when entering/ exiting the construction zone.

School has started, and this adds another level of congestion to the area; drivers need to use caution and patience while traveling through Columbia Avenue and obey Traffic Control Personnel. If possible, consider an alternate route to your destination.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our Communications Coordinator, Stephanie Pelletier at 250-304-8676 or email columbia@marwestindustries.ca

Project updates and current conditions can also be found on Martech Electricals’ Facebook Page, Twitter and Instagram.
