ALL CANDIDATES FORUM AT J.L. CROWE
On Wednesday, October 9, J.L. Crowe Secondary School in Trail is hosting an all-candidates forum in its gym.
Local citizens will have an opportunity to see and hear all five of our riding’s candidates in person, if they all manage to show up. It will be brief — the event starts at 10:00 and is scheduled to run only until 11:20. Everyone is encouraged to attend, and to arrive promptly at a few minutes before the start time, so as not to interrupt proceedings.
Teacher and contact person Ami Starzner declares that all five candidates for the riding have confirmed that they will participate.
The format will allow each candidate to speak for five minutes, then answer questions formulated by students at Crowe. There may be time for questions from other audience members at the end.
The candidates who have promised to attend are:
Incumbent MP Dick Cannings, who lives in Penticton, for the New Democratic Party of Canada;
Local candidate Tara Howse of Rossland, for the Green Party of Canada;
Connie Denesiuk of Summerland, for the Liberal Party of Canada;
Helena Konanz of Penticton, for the Conservative Party of Canada; and
Sean Taylor, who plans to move from Vernon to Penticton, is the People’s Party of Canada candidate.
