On October 20, 2019, at 6:16 p.m. the Trail and Greater District Detachment RCMP responded to a single vehicle motor vehicle accident on Highway 3B, about halfway between Rossland and the Nancy Greene junction.  A 74-year-old male driver in his 2013 Dodge Ram pick-up truck attempted to pass another vehicle, and the driver lost control and rolled his truck over into the ditch off the side of the highway.

Two passengers who were in the truck were injured and were taken for assessment at the hospital in Trail. The RCMP continue to investigate the incident and the driver may  face charges under the BC Motor Vehicle Act.

Police consider the driver’s speed relative to the snowy road conditions to be factors in the crash.

The RCMP advise all motorists to slow down and take their time when travelling in winter conditions.
