A single-vehicle crash at the Murphy Creek bend
On October 22, 2020 at 11:12 a.m. the Trail and Greater District RCMP responded to a report of a single motor vehicle rollover incident on Highway 3B, at the Murphy Creek bend north of Rossland.
According to witnesses the driver, a 29-year-old Warfield man, was northbound in a 2010 Toyota Tacoma when he failed to negotiate a corner on the highway and struck a cement barricade. The man and his truck launched into the air and landed a distance away from the impact point before rolling over onto its side. Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue with assistance from BC Emergency Health Services extracted the man from his vehicle, and he was then immediately taken to hospital for treatment and care.
Trail RCMP believe that impairment by alcohol may be a factor in this incident. The police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing. Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are asked to contact the Trail RCMP.
