The Trail Smoke Eaters are excited to announce defenceman Kabore Dunn has committed to play Division 1 hockey at Lindenwood University in September.

Dunn joined the Smoke Eaters in January and made an immediate impact to the Smoke Eaters defensive core. In 29 games for the Smokies, Dunn added 1 goal and 10 assists for 11 points. The Mill Bay, BC native started the year at the University of Maine before joining the Smoke Eaters. He’ll now join the newly promoted NCAA Division 1 program based out of St. Charles, Missouri for the upcoming season. The Lindenwood Lions previously played in the second division and posted a 22-3-0 record this past year.

“After playing for a year and a half in college, I’ve learned that it’s not about being at the most prestigious program, but the right one, and that is what I felt Lindenwood was for me. From my first conversation with Coach Zombo I felt like our philosophies about the game aligned well and that he has the knowledge to help take my game to the next level. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity and I’m excited to get started this fall.” – Kabore Dunn

“Kabore brought experience, leadership and composure to our team and the defensive group. We enjoyed working with Kabore and helping him excel, both on and off the ice this past season. We are really excited for Kabore and this commitment comes well deserved. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors,” said associate coach Dustin Korlak

The Smoke Eaters want to congratulate Kabore on his commitment to play NCAA Div. I hockey for the upcoming season as he joins a long list of Smoke Eaters alumni playing NCAA college hockey.
