Temporary traffic detour Sunningdale 'Y', Aug. 15

Starting Monday, August 15, 2022, work will begin on the Sunningdale ‘Y’ pedestrian improvement project. Temporary detours will be in effect during the construction period for both Hazelwood Drive and Hillside Drive. The project is expected to conclude on August 19, 2022.
- Please follow all traffic signs and detours and decrease your speed when near the construction zone.
- There will be increased truck traffic in the construction area. Please be aware and use extra caution while driving.
- There may be noise as a result of the construction – local noise bylaws will be followed.
- Police and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
This project serves to improve local infrastructure. In early 2020, the City of Trail consulted with an ICBC Road Safety Engineer to recommend changes to the intersection, resulting in the recommendation to install a median for improved safety.
