Single vehicle crash near Trail RCMP detachment
On Sunday, July 9, at 6:57 p.m., frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officers heard a single motor vehicle crash on Hwy 3B while standing outside in the parking lot of the Trail Detachment located at 3601 Laburnum Drive in Trail, according to Trail top cop Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
He said the officers discovered that a 32-year-old Trail man had crashed a 2011 Jeep Wrangler into the cement barricade lining the highway.
“The Jeep became high centered on the barricade as a result of the collision,” Wicentowich said. “The officers conducted an investigation into possible impairment by the driver; however, it did not appear to be a significant factor in the collision.”
Wicentowich said the man claimed that he was temporarily blinded by the glare of the sun before veering into the barricade. The man was not injured and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
The officers discovered that the response to this incident turned out to be a balancing act,” Wicentowich said.
