Construction contract awarded to Marwest for substantial project

City of Trail has contracted Marwest Industries Ltd. to conduct construction activities between 2031 and 2217 Daniel Street. Work will begin on Monday, April 8, 2024 and reach substantial completion on or before October 15, 2024. The contract administrator for the project is WSP Canada.

There will be traffic and parking restrictions in effect throughout the project timeline.

Potential Traffic Impact:

  • Limited Parking: Parking will be prohibited within the working zone to ensure safety and efficient project execution. Limitations will change based on the nature of the activity.
  • Detours and Traffic Pattern Changes: Detours will be established to direct traffic around the construction zone. Expect modifications to existing traffic patterns, including the implementation of a single-lane, one-way traffic flow. Access to the affected section of Daniel Street will be rerouted through Bay Avenue and Topping Street. One-way traffic will continue from Topping Street onto Daniel Street through End Street until it reaches Bay Avenue.
  • Traffic Control Personnel: On-site traffic control personnel will be present to ensure the smooth flow of traffic and assist motorists.

Construction Schedule:

  • Typical Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
  • Weekend Work: Construction activities may occasionally occur on Saturdays.
  • Substantial Completion: October 15, 2024.

We acknowledge the inconvenience construction projects can cause residents and appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important project for the benefit of the community.
