On Friday, Aug. 8, 2025, at 4:31 p.m. frontline Trail and Greater District RCMP officers responded to a report of a 34-year-old Trail man allegedly brandishing a handgun in the 100 block of Reservoir Road, in Trail, BC.

Officers attended the scene of the incident. Officers located the man and a pellet gun. Officers seized the pellet gun to ensure public safety under Section 117.04 of the Criminal Code.

The man was provided with a verbal warning by officers.

The investigation into criminal charges continues.

Trail RCMP takes such matters very seriously. While sometimes criminal charges are not as straightforward in the moment, the RCMP can forward recommendations on a person brandishing a replica handgun for a review by Crown Counsel for criminality, says Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
