Trail woman fatally injured when struck by vehicle

A Trail woman has died after being struck by a vehicle at an intersection, according to RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.

“On Oct. 30 at 1:44 p.m., the Trail and Greater District Detachment RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a car being driven by a 68-year-old male of Trail and a 81-year-old female pedestrian of Trail at the intersection of Main Street and Second Avenue in Trail,” Wicentowich said. “The 81-year-old female pedestrian received injuries to her head, arm, and leg and was transported to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. The elderly female succumbed her injuries approximately three hours after the incident occurred while in hospital. Trail RCMP are conducting an investigation into the incident with assistance from West Kootenay Traffic Services.
