RCMP: Bank robbery thwarted in Quesnel

A 41-year-old male is in police custody following a bank robbery in Quesnel, according to RCMP Const. Krista Vrolyk.
“Shortly before 5 p.m. on Friday, Quesnel RCMP received a report of a bank robbery,” Vrolyk said.
“Staff at the Scotiabank called 9-1-1 after a lone male entered the bank, demanded money and quickly fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
“Members of the Quesnel RCMP were in the area and apprehended the suspect within minutes – less than one block away,” she added. “The 41-year-old male was arrested for robbery and will remain in police custody awaiting a bail hearing on Saturday.”
