Three Trail firefighters are facing charges after allegedly attacking a homeless man, according to Trail RCMP NCO/ic Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.

“The man was allegedly punched in the head several times, may have lost consciousness, and had a serious shoulder injury,” Wicentowich said, adding the victim is a 49-year-old Trail man who was living in his car at the time.

He said the man has since recovered from his injuries, and now has housing, thus is no longer living on the street or in his car.

“This is in no way representative of Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue,” Wicentowich said adding the three men knew the victim and that the alleged attack likely stemmed from a previous altercation.
