Large group of young people in Fruitvale prompt police to pan pranks

On Aug. 16 at 11:16 p.m., a frontline Trail and Greater RCMP officer received a report about a group of rambunctious youth playing ‘Ding Dong Ditch’ in the 1800 block of Columbia Gardens Road in Fruitvale, According to RCMP Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
He said a witness believed that approximately 15 youths were believed to be involved in the game. Police patrolled the area; however, the youth had dissipated.
“After raising children, I know by the end of August that all of our kids become a little wild and feral. It’s time for the youths to go back to school, isn’t it? In the meantime, please talk to your kids about respectful behaviour in their neighbourhood,” Wicentowich said.
