Conservation captures/relocates local grizzly

Animal lovers will be delighted to learn that a grizzly who got far too close to human dwellings has not been destroyed, but rather tranquilized and removed to safer locale, according to RCMP Acting Sgt. Darryl Orr.
Orr said police had been getting calls for about a week-and-a-half around the Warfield/Tadanac area about a young, apparently very healthy grizzly bear wandering about.
“Conservation was in town tracking the animal, which was eventually located in the Tadanac area yesterday (Monday) afternoon,” Orr said. “CO Blair Thin tranquilized him and relocated him in the woods far, far away.”
Orr said they also tagged the bruin with a GPS tracker, so they can follow his movements, habits, range, etc.
He also said there were no sightings of cubs in the area.
“There have been no calls for service regarding bears since,” Orr added.
